Wednesday With One More Page

I'm so excited to welcome Amanda Moran from One More Page in the spotlight this week!

Amanda was one of the very first book bloggers I came into contact with when publishing my first book, The Keepers: Archer, and her friendliness and support for my series  - and me - has been wonderful. Thanks, Amanda!

Describe your household / family.

I live just outside London with my husband and two sons, Max who is 6 next month and Sam who has just turned 3. We’re a crazy, noisy household and Star Wars rules at the moment!

Describe yourself in five words.

Optimistic, enthusiastic, bookloving, water baby, mum.

What made you decide to start One More Page?

I started One More Page in July 2010; my inspirations were a combination of reading blogs like Novelicious and Chick Lit Reviews and thinking, ‘I’d love to do that’ and my husband who had a blog and kept telling me I should start one on books (I think this was mainly so he’d have more time to play his Xbox!) I’ve always loved books and reading (I’m a librarian!) and used to keep a paper book journal to record what I read and my thoughts. The blog sprang from there (it’s subtitled, ‘Diary of a Book lover) and is my online book journal.

How did you come up with the name of your blog?

It took me forever to come up with a name and it was my husband who eventually thought of One More Page after asking me for the fifth time to turn the light off and getting the same response … “One more page…!”

How does blogging fit into your family life, work etc?

It’s a bit of a juggling act; I work full time and with two small children life is busy, busy, busy but my blog and reading are my little escapes so I always try to make time to do one or the other each day.

You receive a lot of author requests to read their books. How do you decide what to read and when?

It depends, sometimes I read and review to a specific deadline requested by a publisher or author but as much as possible I choose my next read depending on my mood. I read quite a variety of fiction; paranormal, fantasy, historical, romance, literary and chick lit so I can always find something to suit!

What are you currently reading?

I’m working my way through Aimee Duffy’s fab Summer Flings series of short stories which are brilliant summer escapism and I’ve just finished reading Station Eleven which is one of my favourite books of the year so far. Next up on my reading list is The Girls From Corona Del Mar.

What would you like to see more of in the type of books you’re reading?

I've really got into New Adult fiction this year and I’d love to see more Paranormal New Adult!

  1. Maybe she's keen to iron out her husband's faults. I'm keen to get stuck into that Aimee Duffy series. Nice meeting you.
